拙著「変身の原理」において、私は、湯川秀樹博士の文章を引用し、ひとつの道に秀でたすぐ れた才能は、べつの世界においてもおなじようにすぐれた才能を発揮するのであろうという意味 この偉大な科学者に呈したのであったが、いままた、この本で、それとまったくおな ことばを、湯川氏のお弟子である市川亀久弥氏に呈さなければならないことになったというこ とは、 これはいったいどういう因縁というものであろうか。

私は、つぎに述べるような湯川秀樹博士の文章を目にしたとき、思わずわが目を疑うほどのお どろきを感じたものである。 湯川氏は科学について述べておられるのであるけれども、私には、 それがそのまま教について語っているのではないかと思われるものであったのだ この文章とまったくおなじ言葉を、ふたたび、その

さて、大要前述のようなプロセスによりまして、完全変態の昆虫におきましても、サナギ化に

はいるまでの段階で経験するところの小変革は、いったいどういう形態をとって実現しているも のでありましょうか。これが周知の脱皮といわれている段階にほかならないのであります。 周知のように昆虫の幼虫は、すべて、この脱皮と名づけられる段階的な皮ぬぎ作業を、お のおのの成長段階に応じて周期的にくり返し、その最終段階にはいって羽化とよばれております。 ところの、羽根開きの段階にはいっていくのであります。これは、不完全変態の昆虫 完全変態 の昆虫にかかわらず、一様にたどる経過なのであります』

けれども、いまは、そんなことくらいだれでも知っており、今さらだれひとりおどろこうとす るものなどいやしない。 ごくあたりまえの常識になってしまっている。

ここにいたって平凡な人間が、突然、非凡な能力を身につけて、想像を絶する偉大な力を発 揮しはじめる。いうならば、地を這う虫が突然空に舞いあがるような変化を起こす不思議な技術 があるといったら、ひとはまったく信じようとしないであろう。強いて強調すれば、頭のくるっ 大妄想狂うさんくさいハッタリ屋の大山師とでもいうであろう。あるいは、とほうもない ウソをつくひとだというのではあるまいか。

けれども、この両者はともに、自然があたえた進化のメカニズム”を使って変身しているのだ。

ただ、ここで注目しておいていただきたいことは、近代社会の役割、すなわち、実質はともか くとして、一応、<主権在民をかかげて出現した近代デモクラシーの社会におきまして は、神観念の代行者的な役割を果たしていくための人権思想とか、人民主権思想とかを 別にして考えますと、かまでの長い人の社会システムに強度の役を発揮してきました アブソリューティズム(絶対)としての観念というものは、ふたたびそのシステムな 意味を表わすことは、おそらくないだろうと思います。周知のように今日では、富の生産のためだとか、大衆のためだとか、あるいは、あるれに代わっているのやつまりカミホトケという絶対的なもの”もまた、社会システムにおけるパターンの ひとつであったのであり、いうなればJHホルモンであり、そういう意味では、警察権力や行政 施策とそんなに変るものではなかったということである。したがって、ある時期において、

それ らの宗教は、人権思想とか、人民主権思想にとってかわられてしまった。

脱皮した社会 システムに無用のものになってしまったのである。けれども、その敗北と時代の流れを察知でき ない宗教人たちは、

市 川教授が指摘されている通り、従来の、カミホトケというものを礼拝し、ごりやくを期待する というかたちの古い宗教が、もはや現代の社会システムに適応しなくなってしまっているという ことにほかならない。そういう過去の遺物に、いまだに少なからぬ民衆がしがみついているの は、それにかわるべき新しい、且つ、強力なシステムの存在を知らぬからである。目ざめた人たちは、そういう存在を無意識のうちに求めながらも、やむを得ず、そういう宗教に憩いを求める か、もしくは絶望して、宗教というものから遠くはなれてしまっている。

しかし、それはそれとして、一九七〇年代の今日、神観念にとってかわった人の生産のた めだとか、民衆のためだとか、あるいはある種のイデオロギーだとかの「神観念的代行 物」もまた、すでに、その 急速に失いつつあることは、もはや「ご承知のところ」であろ

さきほども少し言及したのでありますが、 神観念的な、アブソリューティズムの で、その社会システム史における制御パターンの役 割をかろうじて行させてきました近代のデモクラシーにおきましても、前述のように、新し 限界が出現してきましたことは、今日だれも否定することはできなくなっていると思います。 すなわち、社会的な生産力のひとつの頂点を象徴するアメリカの宇宙計画では、人間の乗っ ロケットが地球と月の間を無事に往復することができました。

けれども、ひとたび地上の人間 世界に目を転じますときには、公害という名の環境汚染を頂点として、幾多の世紀末的な 混乱はとどまるところがありません。しかも、大デモクラシーVとして出発しましたはず 近代の政治形態のなかでは、意味の大半を失いかけた形式的な多数決原理なるものが、 いよいよ自己運動のたうちまわっているように思われるのであります。

このことは近代自然科学と、そのバックアップのもとに大化してきまし 現代工業技術の社会システム上におけるウェイトの必然的な結果としてあらわされてきた ものでありましょう」

いまや、まさに、人類は、皮をひんめくると、なかから青ぐろいがピュッと吹き出す、あの サナギの解体状態とおなじ状態になってしまっているというのでる。

端的に申しますと、今日の段階における社会システムというものは、おそらくそういう状態の なかに投げこまれているようであります。だといたしますと、人類史における完全変態的な、再 構成的な救済方法を考えなければならない。 でなければ、現代史は解体しっぱなしの状態にはい って、やがてをむかえてしまうのじゃないかと思います。

考えてみますと、脱皮に該当する小変革にすら、うまく通過することができなかったために、

完全に消滅してしまった古代文明は、ナイル河畔、中近東、あるいはユカタン半島などを調べて ゆけば、けっして少ない数ではございません。 いわんや、解体の深度と変革の規模の大きさか考えまして、人類史上における現段階の危険度というものは、当然のことながら、なみたいて いのものではありますまい』

では、いったい、人類はどうなるのか?

解体しっぱなしで、ドロドロの液体状態の混乱のなかで、ホモ・サピエンスは絶滅してゆくの か? 市川亀久弥先生はどのような予測をなされるか?

以上の私見にたいした誤りがなかったとしますならば、おそらく、人類史におけるつぎの段階 は、アプソリューティズムという名の、有効性が保たれていた幼虫的段階から、羽根や管形口器 の獲得に該当する、まったく新しい人類史的段階への脱出が待ちかまえていることになります。 つまり、大なり小なり戦争やや、ライバル意識などにふりまわされてきたこれまでの、か モ・サピエンスの延長線上における皮なのでなぐ会テムにおける完全変態 を確立したあとの、いか超人類史的段階〉のの可能性がいるのであります」

おお、これぞ、ティヤール・ド・シャルダン神父がぜったい信じて疑わなかったヒトジ ョルジュ・オリヴィエ教授が予測するホモ・エクセレンスが現実に生きる超人類社会 (Society of super state homo-sapience) の実現である。

ここに、さすがの市川亀久弥先生もお気がつかなんだすばらしいシステムがひとつあるのだ 市川先生は、せっかくいいところまで肉迫しながら、まったくの専門ちがいのために惜しく もお気がつかれなんだ超人類社会創造のための唯一のシステムがここにあるのだ。

地を遣うみにくいイモムシが、一転してサナギとなり、つづいて春の中空を花から花へうらら かに飛び交う、羽翼のいろもあざやかな蝶へと変身してしまう、すばらしい技術とシステムが、

はいるまでの段階で経験するところの小変革は、いったいどういう形態をとって実現しているも のでありましょうか。これが周知の脱皮といわれている段階にほかならないのであります。 周知のように昆虫の幼虫は、すべて、この脱皮と名づけられる段階的な皮ぬぎ作業を、お のおのの成長段階に応じて周期的にくり返し、その最終段階にはいって羽化とよばれております。 ところの、羽根開きの段階にはいっていくのであります。これは、不完全変態の昆虫 完全変態 の昆虫にかかわらず、一様にたどる経過なのであります』

ここにいたって平凡な人間が、突然、非凡な能力を身につけて、想像を絶する偉大な力を発 揮しはじめる。いうならば、地を這う虫が突然空に舞いあがるような変化を起こす不思議な技術 があるといったら、ひとはまったく信じようとしないであろう。強いて強調すれば、頭のくるっ 大妄想狂うさんくさいハッタリ屋の大山師とでもいうであろう。あるいは、とほうもない ウソをつくひとだというのではあるまいか。

けれども、この両者はともに、自然があたえた進化のメカニズム”を使って変身しているのだ。
