第六章

４　４貧蔽

　これが、三十七菩提分法の象徴である三十七尊を祈念し、供養する修法なのである。

　すなわち、護摩作法あって、印をむすび、観想に入る。

　　『観ぜよ、我が身の九識転じて五智と成る。いわゆる第九蒼摩羅識転じて法界体性智と成る。第

　　八識転じて大円鏡智と成る。第七識転じて平等性智と成る。第六識転じて妙観察智と或る。前五

　　識転じて成所作智と成る。この五智に五部の諸尊一切聖衆（すなわち三十七尊のこと）を摂入

　　す。また、わが身すなわち諸尊なり。善くこれを観ぜよ。』

　これで三十七尊を供養し、三十七尊すなわちわが身なりと観念し、ｙこれを以て三十七課程の修行が

わが身においてすべて完了するのである。

　これが様式化でなくてなんであろうか。わたくしが、『密教入門・求聞持法の秘密』において、密

教には観念宗とよばれる致命的欠陥があると警告したのはこの点なのである。これでは観念宗どころ

か、御都合主義であり、いい気なものだといわれても、返す言葉がないのではなかろうか。

　これでは密教が左道化し、堕落したのも当然である。修行法がないからだ。ヒンド。－教や土俗信

仰とむすびついて消滅し去るのも当然の成り行きというべきだろう。’

真の「修行法」

だがＩ、　誤解しないでいただきたい。わたくしは、真言密教をいたずらに批難し、訥膀しているのではない

のである。

　たとえ「仏さま」として象徴化し、まつり上げてしまったにせよ、仏陀の修行法を前面に打ち出し

たことは、すばらしいことであるといってよいのである。初期大乗以来、捨て去られてしまっていた

仏陀の修行法が、ここに復活したのである。その点において、わたくしは、密教は仏陀の教法にたち

かえることを目ざしたものであるというのである。

　ただ惜しむらくは、この修行法が仏として象徴化されてしまったため、それにつれてなまじいに

　「修行法」として様式化された加持祈祷法ができあがり、それを修することが修行であるということ

になってしまったことである。

　考えてみれば、この三十七尊の象徴化による体系づくりは、まさに天才的偉業というよりほかない

ものである。これを作製、あるいは編成したグループは、実際に三十七課程の修行を実践していたの

である。おそらく、当時のヒンドクーイズムその他の信仰形態などをも勘案して、最も効果的な表現

形式としてこのように編成されたのであろう。この表現の背後には、教学としての実践と理論が裏打

ちされていたのである。

　しかし、時代を経るにしたがって、その真意が失われ、ただその表現のみが残り、祈祷形式の修行

法だけが受けわたしされるようになってしまった。

　実際に戒・定・慧の三学を身におさめ、三十七課程の修行を実践する、あるいは、した、修行者が、時に応じ、三十七尊をまつった金剛界曼荼羅を前にふかい瞑想に入ることはどれほどすばらしい

ことであるか、体験した者にはよくわかるのである。

　だがＩ、後代、その様式化され、枝葉末節的な作法によって修飾された修行法を、「行法次第Ｌと称し、そ

の受けわたしを「法の伝授」とよび、それを以て密教の真髄の授受であるとして自他ともに満足して

いるとしたら、もしもそうであるとしたら、それはナンセンス以外のなにものでもなく、そんなもの

はもはや密教ではないといったら過言であろうか？

　しかし、あの、初期・中期の大乗の行きづまりを打開すべく、仏陀の修行法を真向から打ち出して

立ち上がった第一期真言乗創立者たちの理念と情熱を考えたら、密教徒としてだれしも頭を垂れるよ

りほかないのではなかろうか？

　真言密教はその理念と情熱をふたたびとりもどさねばならぬ。

　たとえ仏さまに象徴化されてしまったとしても、仏陀の教法、修行法をいまの世にはっきり示して

いる大乗仏教は、密教をおいて他にないのである。

　三十七尊を仏の座からひきおろし、もとの修行法に立ちかえらせるのだ。

　それこそが、大日如来をはじめとする三十七尊の仏の本懐なのである。

　その上で、礼拝し、供養し、祈願するとき、そのとき三十七尊は最高最上の御利益をあたえてくだ

さるであろう。

第六章　大乗仏教の終焉

　　　　”救い”から”さとり″へ

　そういうと、それでは仏教は「出家宗教」に立ちかえれというのかヽそういわれるかも知れない・

　そうではないのである。

　時代がちがうのである。

　仏陀の時代には、出家するよりほか修行する道がなかった・二千数百年も前の古代なのである・

　二大根本分裂のときにもヽ一般民衆がヽ道を求めて修行をすることは不可能であった・慈悲を強調

し、布施行を実践させることで、宗教としての役目をはたすよりほかなかったのである。

　日本における鎌倉期の大乗仏教もそうであった。

　自分の名前すらも書くことのできない民衆には、「さとり」よりも、「救い」をまず説き、それによ

って辛うじて民衆を仏陀につなぐよりほかなかったのである。

　それはヽ幕府という封建体制が、その反動勢力を維持する手段として利用するに及んで、明治維

新ヽそして宗教法人法が改正される第二次大戦終了後まで、動かしがたいものとなって固定した。教

団がわもまたヽその反動勢力とむすぶことにより、その勢力を守られて安逸をむさぼった。

　いまや時代がちがうのである。

　民衆の教育程度は高くヽ経済力も比較にならない。情報伝達の機構はとめどなく進歩している。い

くらでも「修行」はできるのである・またヽ一般人ができるように修行を編成することが、仏教の指

導者としての任務ではないのか。自分ができないから一般民衆などなおできないであろうなどと考え

ているとしたら、田心い上がりも甚しいというべきだろう。

　かくも高度に発達した社会において、五百年、千年も前の古代において、便宜的に説かれた「仏さ

まの慈悲Ｌと「救いＬを説くことは、社会と民衆を侮辱することにほかならない。

　いまやわれわれは、仏さまの慈悲による「救いＬを求めるのではなく、仏陀の理念による「さと

りＬを求めなければならぬのである。仏陀の教法において、慈悲はとこまでも第二義のものであり、

第一義は智慧による「さとり」なのである。それを、いま、われわれは必要とするのである。

　それはもはや、よい、わるいの問題ではない。まさに時代の要請なのである。

　仏さまの慈悲による「救い」や「お助け」ではどうにもならぬところまで、人類社会は追いつめら

れてしまっているのである。逆にいうなら、そこまで追いつめられたのは、いままでの宗教のありか

たがすべてまちがっていたからである。

　今日の新聞（日本経済新聞11／４）の報道によると、アメリカの上院もいよいよ。中性子爆弾”の開

発のための支出法案を可決したという。あの、〃悪魔の爆弾‘といわれるものである。そうして、こ

の国はキリスト教国であり、キリスト教はもっぱら「愛Ｌを説くのである。

　西洋においてはキリストの「愛Ｌが説かれ、東洋においては仏さまの「慈悲」が説かれる。

　そしていまや西も東も破滅に瀕しているのである。

　仏陀は、「愛Ｌと「慈悲」以上のものを説かれたのである。その仏陀の説かれたものがいまこそ必

要なのだ。　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　。

　愛も慈悲も必要だが、さらにそれ以上のものが必要なのだ。それを仏陀は二千年来、叫びつづけて

いるのである。それをあなたはどう思うか。

　　仏陀からの再出発

　人類の不幸はなによりもそのおろかなためである。愛か足りないためではない。慈悲が足りないた

めではない。智慧が足りないためである。仏陀が人類を救うために「智慧」の必要を説かれたのはま

さに正しいのである。

　愛も、慈悲も、真実にして高度の智慧の上に立って考えられたとき、はじめて、真実にしてあやま

りなき愛となり、慈悲となるのである。いや、真実にして高度の智慧を得たとき、ひとはおのずから

限りなき慈悲のこころと愛にみたされるのである。、愛と慈悲のこころを持つたからといって人は必ず

しも高い智慧を持つとはかぎらない。しかし、高度の智慧を待ったとき、人は必らず限りなき愛と慈

悲にみたされるのである。かつて仏陀がそうであったようにｉ。

　だがＩ、そういう智慧は修行なくしては得られないのである。仏陀は生来賢者であったが、それ

だけでは仏陀になれなかった。血の出るような修行によって仏陀になられたのである。われわれは仏

陀にはなれないかも知れないが、仏陀の残された教法を修行することにより、賢者にはなれる。いかなる場合にも、殺し合い、傷つけ合い、奪い合うような愚行を演じない賢者にＩＩ。そうしてまた、

そういう愚行を絶滅させ、かぎりない愛と慈悲にみたされた高度でゆたかな社会をつくりだす賢者にー

肉親血縁相剋の因縁
これも、根本は、家運衰退の因縁から出てきているものである。
この因縁は、肉親の者同士、血縁の者同士が、たがいに運気生命力を損ねあい、傷つけあって分散してゆくのである。
毛利元就の「三本の矢」の教訓を逆にいって、おたがいに助けあい、協力しあってゆくべき肉親血縁の者が、離散し、孤立して、次第に没落してゆく。
まさに、家運衰退のあらわれである。
この因縁があると、同居している親子、兄弟など、血縁の噺が、年中不和で詐が絶えない。これは、血縁の者同士でお互いの運気（生命力）を損ねあい、傷つけあっているので、無意識のうちに反発しあって争うのである。この場合、運気を傷つけあうといっても、必ずしも表面立って争いをするとは限らない。ただ同じ屋根の下に住んでいるというだけで、相手の運気（生命力）を損ねるのである。それはちょうど、何か目に見えない光線のようなものを放射しあって、相手の生命力を傷つけるように思われる。人間の生命というものは、自分を守るという自衛本能を持っているから、その本能がはたらいて、無意識のうちに生命力を結集して相手に反発する。その結果として、相手の何でもないような動作や一言一句が非常に気にさわる（神経が立っているので）。そこで静が始まるのである。肉親同士で異常に仲が悪いのぱこのためである。それに加えて財産などの利害関係がからむと、非常に深刻な争いに進展してく。
この因縁のある家庭で、もし、同居の肉親同士が不和でなければ、家族の中に誰か一人、年中病気で苦しむ者か、極端に不運で運の開かぬ不遇の者が必ず出る。
相当の才能、手腕がありながら、常にチャンスを逸したり、チャンスに恵まれない不遇の人、あるいは長年病弱の人は、前記の「中途挫折の因縁」か、または、この「肉親血縁相剋の因縁」によって運気（生命力）を剋害されているのではないかを疑ってみるべきである。どちらかの因縁があったら、それを断ち切らぬ限り、いくら努力しても一生空転するばかりなのだ。
この因縁を持つ人、（あるいはこの因縁のある家系）には、必ず、といっていいほど、霊的な障害がある。つまり、三代か四代前に、その家（またぱ人）を強く恨んで亡くなった怨念のホトヶがいるのである。
また、横変死した人の霊障を受けている場食がほとんどである。

中途挫折の因縁

この因縁を持つ人は、何をやっても、一応、七、八分通りまでは順調に進むが、あとも
う一、二分というところで必ずダメになる。決して実らないのである。この因縁を、一名、「虚花の命」というのは、「七重八重、花は咲けども山吹の、実のひとつだになきぞ悲しき」という古歌の山吹の花と同様、花咲けども実らず、すべてムダ花であるというところからきているのである。よそ目には華やかに見えて、内実は空しいのである。苦労した
あげく、さいごの収穫はごっそりと人に持ってゆかれてしまう。
この因縁を持つ人は、わりあい運気（生命力）の強い人が多く、中途で挫折しては、また立ち上って仕事をし、また七、八分通りで挫折して、そのままになるかと思うとまた立ち上って、また挫折する、というように、七転八起の起伏のはげしい人生を送る人が多い。
そうして、結局は、挫折したままで終るのである。
大体、因縁のあらわれ方には二通りあるのであって、その囚縁が、そのままその人の恍格にあらわれている場合と、性格には全然あらわれない場合とがある。
この中途挫折の因縁の場合も、この因縁がそのまま性格にあらわれて、非常に気の弱い意志薄弱の型と、逆に、非常に気のつよい意志強固の型がある。
意志薄弱のタイプは、何をやってもすぐにあきてしまって、ながつづきしない。気うつりがぱげしい。学業、職業、すべてがそうで、転々とする。文字通りの中途挫折、薄志弱行の型である。
もう一つのほうは、これと全く反対で、性格もつよく、意志も強固で、努力家でもある。
然るに、かえってその強さが人と相容れず、上の者と衝突したり、同僚と円満に協調出来なかったりして、失敗し、挫折する。あるいは、ここ一番という大事なところで、きまってつまらぬミスをしたり、人の誤解をうけたり、妨害をうけたりする。また、病気や怪我などで手違いが生ずる、というように、必ずなにかしら障害が発生して、チャンスをつぶ
すのである。

薄志弱行タイプの場合は、すぐにあきたり、気移りしたりして白分から会社を転々とするが、意志強固タイプの場合は、自分でぱ一心に努力をして会社を変わるつもりはさらさらないのだが、他動的に転々と変わらざるを得ないようになってしまうのである。その人の思劣、心構えなどに関係なく、結果は結きょくおなじことになが、因縁というものの、こわいところである。精神一到何小か成さざ‘ら人や、と気胆劣てみたところで、この因縁を持っていては、所詮、ダメなのだ。外的条件が許さないのである。
つねに転々として挫折する。

この中途挫折の因縁が、そのようにして一段と強くなった場合、

運気不定・浮沈の因縁

という因縁になる。

これは、運気に根が生じないので、そのため、浮沈変転してとどまらないのである。
いわば、根無し草の人生である。居住、職業が定まらず、転々とする。一的に幸運を得ることがあっても、永続しない。一生、ホームレスか、それに近い境界となる。
女性の場合、ちゃんとした結婚生活をつづけることが出来ない。再婚、三婚し、しかしいくら結婚を繰り返しても、決して安定した夫婦生活を持つことは出来ない。
「色情の因縁」のある場合は、不倫の関係に陥ったり、あるいは売春をする悲惨な因縁である。

However, their strength is incompatible with others, they collide with the superiors and cannot cooperate harmoniously with their colleagues, failing and frustrating. Or, in the most important places here, we make mistakes that are always stupid, misunderstood, and hindered. In addition, there will always be some obstacles, such as sickness or injury resulting in a mistake

In the case of the light-weaker type, the company changes from one company to another immediately because of a sudden change or a change, but in the case of the strong-willed type, it is more likely that you will work hard to change the company yourself. It is not, but it has to be passively changed. Regardless of the person’s inferiority, attitude, etc., the result is almost the same, but it is scary, though related. I’m sorry to be a bit of a spiritual person, and I’m sorry to have this connection. External conditions do not allow.
Always frustrated.
