「大日」とは「大いなる輝くもの」を意味する 梵語マハーヴァイローチャナ(Mahāvairocana) の 意訳です。音写して「摩訶毘盧遮那如来」ともい います。

梵名サマンタバドラ (Samanta bhadra)の「サマ ンタ」は「普く」、「バドラ」は「賢」と漢訳しま す。「賢」とは具体的には「さとりを求める心か ら起こる、成仏しようとする願いと行ない」のこ とです。それが、ときとところを選ばず遍在して いるということを象徴したのがこの菩薩です。で すから、菩薩行を実践する者をつねに守護するほ とけでもあります。

ぞう 六牙の白象に乗り、文殊菩薩とともに釈迦如来 の脇侍をつとめます。文殊菩薩の智慧に対して、 慈悲(の行)をつかさどります。

なお、密教では、堅固不 壊の菩提心を象徴する 金剛薩埵と同体とします。 辰年と巳年生まれの人の守り本尊とされています。

 

普賢菩薩(ふげんぼさつ)とは？

普賢とは「全てにわたって賢い者」という意味で、あらゆるところに現れ命ある者を救う行動力のある菩薩です。

 

文殊菩薩とともに釈迦如来の右脇侍として三尊で並ぶことが多いですが、独尊で祀られる場合もあります。文殊菩薩の智慧とともに修行を司る菩薩として、明晰な智慧で掴み取った仏道の教えを実践していく役割を果たすとされています。また、女性の救済を説く法華経の普及とともに女性に多く信仰を集めました。

 

ちなみに普賢菩薩から派生した仏に延命のご利益のある普賢延命菩薩があります。

ご利益

女性守護、修行者守護、息災延命、幸福を増やす増益のご利益があるとされています。また、辰・巳年の守り本尊です。

観音菩薩とともに阿弥陀如来の脇侍をつとめま すが、独立した本尊としてはあまり信仰されてい ません。 午年生まれの人の守り本尊とされています。

梵名は、バイシャジャグル(Bhaisajyaguru) で、

いいおうがっ」 薬師瑠璃光如来とか大医王仏とも呼ばれています。

人間の病苦を癒し、内面の苦悩を除くなど十二 の大願をもつ如来です。その誓願の中でも、とり わけ「身体を健全にさせ」「あらゆる病気を平癒 させる」という二つの大願に人びとの信仰があつ まりました。薬師岳、薬師温泉など各地にその名 がつけられているのも、古来広く信仰されてきた 証左といえます。

薬師三尊は、薬師如来を中尊に、向かって右に。 日光菩薩、左に月光菩薩が脇侍となります。奈良 の薬師寺金堂の三尊像は有名です。

また、薬師如来は、十二神将と呼ぶ護法神を春 属としてしたがえています。

 

東方浄瑠璃世界の教主で、正式名を薬師瑠璃光如来（やくしるりこうにょらい）といいます。

 

病気を治して衣食住を満たすという「十二の大願」を立て、生きている間に願いを叶えてくれます。阿弥陀如来のように死んだ後にやすらぎを与えるのではなく、現世にやすらぎを与えてくれるのが特徴です。昔の作例はとくに病気平癒を願ったものが多数存在します。

 

日光菩薩と月光菩薩を脇侍として三尊として並ぶことが多いです。

文殊は智慧第一の菩薩として、「維摩経」をは じめ、大乗仏典の中でたびたび重要な役柄として 登場します。

文殊菩薩は、その真言の数によって、五字文殊、 一字文殊、六字文殊、八字文殊などがあり、また、 それらの頭上の雪によって、五菩文殊、一善文殊 などとも呼ばれています。「ア・ラ・ハ・シャ・ ノウ」という五字の真言が大日如来の五つの智慧 をあらわしているところから、五字文殊を文殊菩 薩の本体とします。 卯年生まれの人の守り本尊とされています。

文殊菩薩(もんじゅぼさつ)とは？

正式名称は文殊師利菩薩（もんじゅしりぼさつ）といいます。「三人よれば文殊の知恵」という格言があるように、知恵の神様として学業向上や合格祈願に有名な菩薩です。モデルとなった人物が存在し、古代インドにあるコーサラ国の首都・舎衛国（しゃえこく）のバラモン階級の者だったといわれています。仏教の経典を書物にまとめる作業などに関わったといわれていますよ。ただし、本来は学問などの知恵を司るのは虚空蔵菩薩であり、文殊菩薩は物事のあり方を正しく見極める力・判断力を意味する「智慧」を司っています。

 

釈迦如来の左脇侍として普賢菩薩と共に三尊で並ぶことが多いですが、独尊で祀られることもあります。

智慧明瞭、学業成就のご利益があるとされています。また、卯年の守り本尊です。卯年に生まれた人々の開運、厄除け、祈願成就を助けるといわれています。

それらの抑圧された無意識のなかの諸傾向は、けっして消滅するという こ と は な い。こころの奥ふかく社会的習慣の背後に身をひそめ、思いがけないきっかけを利用 して外にあらわれてくる。

そのあらわれかたはさまざまで、ときには、遊戯、戦争、迫害、犯罪などのかたち ではげしくほとばしり出たり、あるいは、なんでもないような出来ごとのなかに隠れ て象徴的なかたちで、あるいは、満たされない欲望に禁じられた満足をあたえる夢と なり、あるいは言いまちがい、失錯行為、神経症的行動、さらには精神病となって浮 かびあがってくるのである。と。

おそるべき~運命の反覆

こういうひとたちの苦しみは、そうでないひとたちにはまったく不可解なものであ るといってよい。とうてい理解できないであろう。

その内面世界はつねに暗鬱であり、絶望感に覆われている。得態の知れない焦燥感 にかられてつねにいらいらしている。これという理由もなしに、突然、すさまじい怨 恨の情や憤怒の念にかりたてられたり、一転して悲しみのどん底にたたき落とされたり。
