The One Who Sets It in Motion — The Gate of Breath

The One Who Sets It in Motion
Mountain night, the hermitage grows still
Only the wind moves through the cedar trees
With closed eyes, watching the breath within
The inner gate begins to open

Set the breath in motion through body and mind
When stilled and seen, a light is born
Inhaling returns toward liberation
Exhaling dissolves into the vast sky

Place awareness upon the inner gate
The sleeping brain awakens slowly
The deep path of the Four Anapanasati
In silent stillness, I sit
