First-time meditation

First-time meditation

Here are some tips for your first-time meditation:

  1. Find a quiet and comfortable space where you won’t be disturbed.
  2. Sit in a comfortable position, either cross-legged on a cushion or in a chair with your feet flat on the ground.
  3. Close your eyes or lower your gaze, whatever feels more comfortable for you.
  4. Focus on your breath. Pay attention to the sensation of inhaling and exhaling.
  5. When your mind wanders, gently bring your attention back to your breath without judgment.
  6. Start with short sessions, like 5-10 minutes, and gradually increase the duration as you become more comfortable.
  7. Don’t worry about achieving a specific outcome. The goal is to be present and observe your thoughts and feelings.
  8. Be patient with yourself. Meditation takes practice, and it’s normal to have a busy mind at first.
  9. Consider using guided meditation apps or videos to help you get started.
  10. Enjoy the process and be open to the benefits that meditation can bring to your life.
