降三世明王
阿閃如来の命を受け、煩悩を退治
降三世明王(ごうざんぜみょうおう)とは？
阿閃如来、大日如来の化身ともいわれ東方を守護しています。降三世の語源は「３つの世界を降伏するもの」という意味で、過去・現在・未来の世界にはびこる欲望、怒り、愚痴という三つ煩悩を退治するといわれています。
大日如来が説法をしていたとき、大自在天（ヒンドゥー教のシヴァ神）とその妃・鳥摩（ウマー）が仏教の教えに従わず欲望に捕らわれていたため降三世明王が降臨して倒したといわれています。そのため、降三世明王像の足下には大自在天と鳥摩が踏みつけられています。五大明王の一尊で単独では祀られません。

煩悩除去、怒りを抑える、悪魔退散のご利益があるとされています。
