文学史上に大きな足跡を残した近代詩人中原中也は、明治40〈1907〉年4月29日、現在の山口市湯田温泉に生まれました。
下宇野令尋常高等小学校、山口師範学校附属小学校から山口中学校に入学。小学校高学年より短歌を制作、雑誌や新聞の歌壇に投稿をはじめます。その後、ますます文学に熱中し、中学3年で落第。立命館中学へ転校のため京都へ移り、高橋新吉や富永太郎の影響を受けて、詩人としての道を歩み始めます。
大正14〈1925〉年上京。小林秀雄、河上徹太郎、大岡昇平らを知り、昭和4〈1929〉年、河上ら友人たちと同人誌「白痴群」を創刊。昭和9〈1934〉年には、第一詩集『山羊の歌』を出版し、詩壇に認められるに至りました。「四季」「歴程」「文学界」などの雑誌にも詩を発表。また、フランス詩の翻訳も手がけ、訳詩集『ランボオ詩集』も刊行します。
昭和12〈1937〉年10月22日、山口への帰郷を願いつつ、鎌倉の地で30年の短い生涯を閉じました。自らまとめ、小林秀雄に託した第二詩集『在りし日の歌』は、友人たちの尽力で昭和13〈1938〉年4月に刊行されました。
その生涯を詩人として生き抜いた中也は、珠玉の詩篇を後世に残し、日本をはじめ海外にも知られ、多くの人々に愛されています。

ニーチェは、神、真理、理性、価値、権力、自我などの既存の概念を逆説とも思える強靭な論理で解釈しなおし、悲劇的認識、デカダンス、ニヒリズム、ルサンチマン、超人、永劫回帰、力への意志などの独自の概念によって新たな思想を生みだした。

永劫回帰

有名な永劫回帰（永遠回帰）説は、古代ギリシアの回帰的時間概念を借用して、世界は何か目標に向かって動くことはなく、現在と同じ世界を何度も繰り返すという世界観をさす。これは、生存することの不快や苦悩を来世の解決に委ねてしまうクリスチャニズムの悪癖を否定し、無限に繰り返し、意味のない、どのような人生であっても無限に繰り返し生き抜くという超人思想につながる概念である。

超人

古代インド思想
