Prayer of the Vow – Om Samaya Sattvaḥ
白象に乗りし 慈悲の菩薩よ
霧深き道に現れし御姿を 我は忘れぬ
迷いの中にあっても
私は歩む者でありたい
止まらぬ心を持って 世に光を灯したい
オン・サンマイヤ・サトバン
―― 誓いのもとに、我が心を清めたまえ
オン・サンマイヤ・サトバン
―― 慈しみの誓願を、行いの中に刻ませたまえ
愛はやさしさだけではなく
沈黙を超えて、届く祈りでありたい
誰かの涙に寄り添い、誰かの重荷をともに担うこと
母よ、あなたが遺した言葉の意味に
ようやく、今、気づきはじめています
オン・サンマイヤ・サトバン
―― 白象のほほえみに、導かれて
オン・サンマイヤ・サトバン
―― この身この心、この一歩を 誓願の道に捧げます
O Bodhisattva of Compassion, who rides the white elephant,
I shall never forget your form,
that appeared upon the mist-veiled path.
Even amidst confusion and doubt,
I wish to be one who walks on—
with an unwavering heart,
to shine a light upon this world.
Om Samaya Sattvaḥ
— By this vow, purify my heart.
Om Samaya Sattvaḥ
— Let the pledge of compassion be carved in my deeds.
Love is more than gentleness alone.
May it be a prayer that transcends silence,
a strength that shares another’s sorrow,
and helps carry the burdens they bear.
