タテの因縁とヨコの因縁
以上、人間の持つ因縁の大体を述べてきた。あなたも、これらの因縁の中のいくつかを必ず持っているはずである、
では、これらの因縁ぱ、いったい、どこから生じたのであろうか？
仏陀は、経典の中で、
「種の差別は業に由る」
とおっしやっておられる。
つまり、「業」によって、人それぞれちがう因縁を持って生まれるのでる、とおっしやっているのである。
では、業は、因縁に対してどのようにはたらくのか？
阿含宗では、基本的には「タテの因縁」と「ヨコの因縁」となってあらわれると説く。
タテの因縁とはなほか？
先祖から受けついだ系である。
ヨコの囚縁とはなにか？
自分が前生でなした業である。
このタテの因縁とヨコの因縁の交わるところが、自分である。

つまり、祖先の業と、自分の前生の業と、この二つの業によって生じたのが、自分の因縁である。言葉を替えていえば、自分は、祖先の因縁と自分の前生になした因縁と、この二つによって、この世に生まれ存在しているわけである。この二つの系続から成り立って
いるのが、自分という存在だ。
どんな人でも、親－祖先なくしては存在しない。ということは、親、祖先から、さまざまなものを受けついでいるということである。顔かたち、性格、体質、その他もろもろのものを受けついでいる、これはどんな人も否むことは出来ない。
有名な儒教の大学者、安岡正篤先生は、その著書『大学』（経書の書名）の講義の中で、こうのべておられる。
我々は今日身体を親から受けているが、この小なる生命というものぱ、両親・祖父母とずっとつながっている。我々の両親はたった二人、二代で四人であるが、二十代さかのぼると百万人を超え、三十代さかのげると十億を超えるという。そういう無限の生命が玄在（かげに存在しているという意味。桐山注）して、その結果、現実に自分の身体が明在し
ている。この身体が明徳である。遺伝学では五千匹前のネズミの先祖の特質が五千匹後の子孫に出ているという。それを考えると、玄徳（祖先からうけついだかげの徳。桐山注）
というものは恐ろしいものである。この玄徳に豊かに根ざしている明徳ほど立派である。玄徳というのは、われその徳の中には、いい徳も
あるし、不徳、悪徳もある。そういう玄徳をうけついでこの世に明在しているのが、白分である。この玄徳ということばを、仏教の「業」「因縁」と置きかえてみればよくわかるであろう。
五千匹前のネズミ、というと、人間でいうならば約十代前の祖先の人、と考えてよいで
あろう。その祖先のネズミの特質（つまり玄徳・因縁）が、五千代のちのネズミの子孫に出ているというのである。まったく、安岡正篤先生のおっしやる通り、「玄徳というものは恐ろしいものである」でぱないか。

「どうしておれがガンで死なねばならないのだ？」
そういうと、「タテの因縁」は理解できるが「ヨコの因縁」はなっとくできない、という人が出てくるかも知れない。
尤もである、それはふつう、誰でも前生というものを見ることが出来ないからである。
霊視力を持っていて、理くつなしに人の前生を見ることの出来る人は別として、それが出来ない人は、なっとく出来ないであろう。
実は、私自身も昔、修行時代、その点がなっとく出来なかった。それがなっとく出来たのは、私自身に「癌の因縁」と「刑獄の因縁」のあることを、因縁透視をして知った時のことであった。
その端緒（はじまり）ぱ、私の妹が、二十六歳の若さで、スイ臓ガンのために亡くなったことにはじまる。最初、ガンとは分からなかった。東大病院の担当教授の診断は、「動脈瘤でしょう」ということであった。入院前に、母に言われて、私は妹の因縁を透視してみた。ガンの因縁があり、「天命殺」の凶運期に入っていた。私は、母に答えた。
「ガンの因縁がありますね。しかし、まだ、二十六歳の若さですから、ガンではないでしょう。先生のおっしやる通り、動脈瘤でしょう。この次の天殺にガンの出るおそれがあります。まだ十年先ですから、それまでに、防ぐ方法を考えましょう」
母をひそめていった。そういうげも笞くして孔ガンの疑いで片方の乳房がすほどの大手術をしている。妹は、入院して開腹すると、スイ臓ガンですでに他にも転移しており、手のほどこしようもなく、退院した。あと、よく持って六ヵ月、ということだった。
そのことばの通り、妹は、ガン末期の苦しみに苦しみぬいて、五ヵ月ほどで亡くなった。亡くなる１ヵ月ほど前、苦しみにあえぎながら、妹は私の手くだけるほど強くにぎり、こ’フいった。
「お兄ちゃん、私は生まれてから二十六年、これという悪いことをしたおぼえぱないのに、どうしてこんなに苦しまなければいけないの？　どうしてなの？　お兄ちゃんはもの知りだから、わかるでしよ？　どうしてなの？」
息もたえだえに、苦しみながら、とぎれとぎれの言葉で問いかけられ、私ぱなにもいえなかった。答えるすべもなかった。つよく手をにぎり返してやりながら、「大丈夫だよ、もうじき治る」そういうよりはかなかった。あまりの苦しみように、いっそ首をしめて息をとめてやりたい思いであった。森鴎外の『高瀬舟』が脳中を往き来していた。それから間もなく昏睡
状態に陥り、一ヵ月後、妹は亡くなった。その葬儀を終えたのち、母のことばが頭にひっかかっていた私は、早速、自分の因縁をくわしく透視してみた。私はがくぜんとした。
なんと！　私自身に、妹と全く同じ星が出ているのである。四十八歳から四十九歳の天
命殺に、ガンになるという因縁が透視されたのでる。
どうして、私がガンにならなければならないんだ
私は心の中で叫んだ。苦しみにあえぎながら私に問いかけた妹のことばが、耳の中によみがえった。
「生まれてから二十六年、これといって悪いことをしたおぼえがないのに、どうしてこんなに苦しまなければならないの？　お兄ちゃん、教えて……」
この妹のことばは、そのまま私のものになったのである。
「どうしておれが、ガンにならなければならないんだ？」
母のことばによると、桐山家はガンの血統であるという。とすると、私がガッになるのは、私の祖先のせいということになる。母が私にガンの遺伝をつたえ、その母は祖父につたえられ、またその祖父は、曾祖父によってガンにならされたということになる。
先祖のおかげで、おれぱガンになるのだ、ということになるわけだ。
とすると、私にとって、祖先ほど忌まわしい存在はないということになる。愛情ふかい無二の存在である母さえも、この母からガンを伝えられたために、おれは四十八、九歳の若さでガンで死ななければならないのだと考えると、母への愛情も、しらけてくるような気がする。
私は悩んだ。自分の親や祖先を敬愛するのは、生物としての自然の人情である。しかるに、子孫が親や祖先を恨まなければならないというのは、自然の摂理にもとることである。
きわめて不自然といわなければならない、どこか間違っているのじやないか？　そう思った。
のちに仏陀シャカの「成仏法」を学んで霊視能力を持ってからは、人の前生も透視できるようになった私だが、その頃はまだそういう能力を持っておらず、非常に悩んだのでめった。
この悩みを解決するのは仏教である。そう思った私は、片っぱしから仏教経典を読破した。その答は、やはり経典の中にあった。
人間には前生がある、という仏陀の教えである。
人間の生命は、この世の中の誕生にぱじまるものではなく、前生からのひきつづきであるという教えである。これで、私の目は開いた。
私は、前生において、次の生にぱガンで痘れるという業をつくり、ガンになる因縁を持って生まれてきたのである。だから、私は現生において桐山家に生まれずに他の家、たとえば、中村家なり、田中家なりに生まれても、その家には必ずガンの因縁があって、（つまりガンを遺伝する祖先がいて）私は必ずガンで死ぬことになる、のである。
ガンになる「因」は私自身にあり、桐山家は、ガンになる「縁」になるものであったということがわかったのである。私が桐山家に生まれたのは、ガンのほかにいくつか、桐山家に『縁』になるものがあったのであろう。
これで、私ぱなっとくしたのであった。
そしてこのことは、のちに私が前生を透視する能力を待ったとき、その真実であることを確認したのである。
私がこれを何年にもわたって追求したのは、自分の持つ悪い因縁を断ち切るためには、どうして因縁が生じるのか、因縁の成り立ちをはっきり把握しなければ、因縁の切りようがないからである。敵の本体を知らなければ、幟いようがないからだ。私は、こうして、因縁の本体をつかんだ。すなわち、因縁というものは、タテの因縁とヨコの因縁から成り
立っている。したがって、因縁を切るためには、タテの因縁を切る方法と、ヨコの因縁を切る方法と、この二つの方法を持だなければならない、ということである。
この二つの方法を求めて、私は必死に仏典と取り組み、修行にはげんだ。その結果、私は、この二つの方法を手に入れた。それはまた、あとの章でのべよ

。霊障の因縁
先にも述べたが、霊障を伴う因縁がいくつかある。
「横変死の因縁」
「家運衰退の因縁」
「肉親血縁相剋の因縁」
「色情の因縁」
など、ほとんど、霊障のホトヶが霊視される。

それら霊障のホトヶは、いずれも悪い怨恨の念や、非常な苦悶から生じたもので、三代から五代くらい前の先祖にかかわりを持つホトヶであることが多い。
ときには、病気で苦しみ抜いたホトヶが霊障を発していることもある。

、そのホトヶを解脱成仏させさえすれば、その因縁が切れてしまうと
いうことではない。因縁は因縁切りの行をして切らねばならないのであるが、霊障のホトヶを消滅させることが先決問題であって、霊障のホトヶが存在しつきまとう限り、どんな因縁切りの法も行も、法験をあらわすことができない。というよりも、霊障のホトヶの解身体、つまり、
の一部なのだといった方がよいであろう。
霊障のホトヶなど無い、といとをいう宗教家が時どき出てくる。
霊視能力がないから、霊的現象を見ることができない。自分に見えないから、そんなも
のはないと思ってしまうだろう。単純素朴な脳の持ち主である。
霊視能力のない宗教家ぱ、宗教家と名乗る資格がないのではなかろうか。世界中、どんな宗教家でも、宗教家と名のつくほどの人で、霊視能力のない人はない。
最近、ある人が、阿含経のどこにも不成仏霊や霊障のことなど書いたところがない、阿含宗が不成仏霊や霊障のホトヶの供養をするのはインチキだなどといっている、という。
まことに笑うにたえぬぱなしで、阿合経のどこを見ているのか、無知の者のいうことで、
とりあげるほどのものでぱないが、迷わせられる者がでないとも限らぬので、私の著書（『間脳思考』平河出版社刊）から、次に転載しておく。
肉体なく意識だけの生命存在
意生身
－ところで、このお経（「雑阿含経・身命経」を指す）で、シャカが「意生身」ということばを使っていることが記されている。意生身とは、註解にある通り、心だけのへけの生命存在のこと

もちろん、道教の気道の法が、すべて仏陀の気道の法そのままだというのではない。
仏陀の気道の法を受けついで、さらに道教独特のものに発展させていったということである。原型が仏陀にあり、仏陀にさかのぼることが出来るというのである。そしてそれはまた、同時に、クンダリニー・ヨーガにも関わってくるということになる。

仏陀の成仏法の修行法を、いま、如実に知ることは至難の業である。それはごく、わずかに、阿含経の中に散在するに過ぎず、不可能に近いといっていいであろう。
しかし、クンダリニー・ヨーガと道教の修行法を、阿含経の中にある仏陀の修行法わざアーガマと対照しつつ実践を重ねていくと、おのずから男罪と浮かんでくるものがあるのである。そしてさらに体験を重ね、錬磨し、修行を積んでいくと、突然、閃めきとともにかたちをあらわしてくるものがある。
わたくしは、三十にして仏道に志し、以来、ひとすじに仏陀の成仏法を求めつづけて四十年、ようやくこれをほぼ復原し、体得したと確信するに至った。
そしてその瞬間、さとったのである。この法こそがいままさに壊滅せんとす地球
を救済する、究極の救世主の法であったということを。

完璧な仏陀の気道法

ところで、わたくしは、前の節で、仏陀の気道の法は、クンダリニー・ヨーガの気道法の不十分な部分を補足したものであるとのべた。
それはどういうことか?
クンダリニー・ヨーガの気道は三本ある。

上深秘の呼吸法

一つはスシュムナー管、他の二つは、ピンガラ、イダーの気道である。
中心となる気道はスシュムナー管である。これは、さきにものべたように、尾武骨から始まって、延髄に至っている。
