「眠想」という言葉は、どこから出たのであろうか?
日本語の「瞑想」を、辞典から引いてみると、
「目を閉じて静かに考えること。現前の境界を忘れて想像をめぐらすこと」

「目を閉じて心を静め、無心になって想念を集中させること(明治期につくられた語
(『大辞林』三省堂)

とある。

いたくーたち、瞑想を本格的に修行しているものからみると、いずれも、もの足
りない感じがする。
さきにわたくしは、瞑想はインドにおいて非常に古くからおこなわれていた｡
書いたが、では、インドでは、瞑想をなんとよんでいたのだろうか?
インドでは、Samatha Vipasyana とよんでいたのである。
想という語は、『大辞林』にあるように、明治になってつくられた言葉であっ
く、以前の、古い密教の書物をみると、瞑想という語は、いっさい見あたらなハシナ
わたくしは、密教を、最初、独学で勉強をはじめたのであるが、古い密教の書物
を開いて、
皆厚他・毘鉢那こそ、密教の肝要なり」
という文字にぶつかって、目をパチクリさせたものである。
いろいろ調べて、これが瞑想のことだと知った。そして、瞑想という漠然とした
ものではなく、瞑想そのものの本質をズバリ表現した言葉であることに感心した。
この言葉は、瞑想の本質とその技法を、ズバリそのまま表現しているのである。
著燥他とは、心を一点一境に集中して、いささかも散乱させないこと。
舎那は、現前の境界をはなれて、さまざまな想念をめぐらすこと。
とかに、瞑想の技法である。瞑想は、じつに深遠にしてきわめがたいものである
が、技法としては、この二つに帰する。

阿含経典のなかに、シャマタとビパシュヤナーについてつぎのように説かれてい
ところがある。
どなの。
修行僧らよ。これらの二つは明知の部類に属する法である。
その二つとはなんであるか?
シャマとビバシュイナーである。修行僧らよ。 シャンを修したならば、
いかなる目的を体現するであろうか?心するのである。では、心を修し
たならば、いかなる目的を体現するであろうか? いかなる責決でも断ぜられ
るのである。ビバシュイナーを修したならば、いかなる目的を体現するであろ
うか? 質慧をするのである。では、智慧を修したならば、いかなる目的な
体現するであろうか、、いかなる無明でも断ぜられるのである。
修行僧よ。自試によごされた心は解脱しない。無明によごされた智慧は修
せられない、修行僧らよ、このように、貪欲を離れることから心の解脱が起こ
り、無明選れることから習書の解脱が起こるのである。(雑阿含経)
バミューナード書き意することばとして文献の上にあらわれてくるのは、ブッダ以後である。要するに、ヨーガ、味、神は、瞑想ぜんたいむ
意味し、シャマタ・ビパシュヤナーは、瞑想の技法をそのままとって、眠想を意味
することばとして使われるようになったのであろう。
このシャマタ・ビバシュヤナーの瞑想法を、わかりやすく解説したものに、な
台小止観』一巻がある。
これは、中国天台の第三祖天台大師智顕(五三八~五九七)があらわしたもの
で、この瞑想法の効用と、それを修する心がまえを説いたものである。
智頭は、
シャマタを、「止」
ビパシュヤナーを、「観」
と漢訳した。
これはまことに名訳であると同時に、インド、中国、日本を通じ、瞑想について
これほど速切に書かれた指導書は稀である。のちにつくられた禅宗のいろいろな作
法書や、仏教諸派の誤想法など、すべてこの『天台小止観』一巻が手本になってい瞑想法の入門書として最適なので、本書も、ここから解説をはじめることにする。

From the perspective of those who are practicing meditation in earnest, all of them are feet.
I don’t feel like it.
Earlier I said that meditation has been practiced in India for a very long time.

In India, it was called Samatha Vipasyana.
The word “so” was coined in the Meiji era, as in “Daijirin”.
In the old esoteric books, the word meditation is completely new to Hasina.
I started studying esoteric Buddhism on my own, but it is an old esoteric book.

After a lot of research, I learned that this was meditation. And the vagueness of meditation
I was impressed that it was a word that expressed the essence of meditation itself, not something.
This word expresses the essence of meditation and its technique as it is.
The other thing is to concentrate your mind on each border and not to scatter it at all.
Sana is to break away from the boundaries of the present and to ponder various thoughts.
It’s a meditation technique. Meditation is really profound and indistinguishable.
However, the technique is attributed to these two.

In the Agama scripture, it is explained about Shamata and Bipashuyaner as follows.
There is a place.
Who is it?
Monks. These two are laws that belong to the category of Akechi.
What are the two?
Shama and Viva Shiner. Monks. If you master Shan
What purpose will it embody? Then, repair your mind
If so, what purpose would it embody? Any blame would be rejected
It is. Whatever purpose you embody if you master Viva Shiner
Do you do it? Then, if you have mastered wisdom, what is the purpose?
Whether it will be embodied or not, any unclearness will be rejected.
A monk. The heart that was struck by the self-test will not be released. The wisdom of the avidyā is repaired
I can’t let you, monks, in this way, leaving greed causes liberation of the mind
Therefore, the liberation of the study book will occur because of the unclear selection. (Miscellaneous)
It is after Buddha that it appears in the literature as a word to be written by Bamunad. In short, yoga, taste, god, meditation
Meaning, Shamata Bipashuyaner means sleepiness, taking the technique of meditation as it is
It may have come to be used as a word to do.
