.持明院（じみょういん）
穏やかな表情の般若菩薩と忿怒の形相の四明王が描かれる。
.Jimyo-in Temple The calm expression of Hannya Bodhisattva and the four angry kings are depicted.
柔和な表情の般若菩薩と忿怒の形相の二大明王による厳かな院。我を忘れた状態を諸明王が見抜き、人々の煩悩・妄執を根本から打ち砕く。
●主尊の般若菩薩を中央に、左右に大威徳明王、降三世明王をそれぞれ二尊、合計５尊を配する。
●中台八葉院の下部（西方）。
●大日如来のサトリの智慧（明）をよく持する忿怒形の教令輪身をして、よく私たち（衆生）の煩悩・妄執を断ぜしめる院、別称五大院。
●四智のなかの平等性智にあたる。
左から勝三世明王、閻曼徳迦菩薩（大威徳明王）、般若波羅蜜多菩薩（般若菩薩）、伐折囉吽迦囉金剛（降三世明王）、不動明王
の五尊のみが配置されるため、別名「五大院」とも呼ばれる。煩悩を克服する力を象徴している。

The Hannya Bodhisattva with a calm expression and the Shimyo King with an angry expression are drawn.
A majestic temple with a gentle expression of Hannya Bodhisattva and two great Myoos with an angry expression. Shomyoo sees through the state of forgetting himself and crushes people’s worldly desires and delusions from the ground up.
●Hannya Bodhisattva, the main deity, is placed in the center, and Daiitoku Myo-o and Gosansei Myo-o are placed on the left and right, respectively, for a total of five deities.
●Lower part of Nakadai Hachiyoin (west).
●The temple, also known as the Godai-in, has a wrath-shaped instruction wheel that holds the wisdom (Ming) of Satori of Dainichi Nyorai, and often cuts off our worldly desires and delusions.
●It corresponds to the wisdom of equality in the four wisdoms.
From left to right: Katsu III Myoo, Enmandeka Bodhisattva (Daiitoku Myoo), Hannya Haramita Bodhisattva (Hannya Bodhisattva), Katsurei Ukaya Kongo (Go III Myoo), Fudo Myoo
It is also called ‘Godaiin’ because only the five deities are placed here. It symbolizes the power to overcome afflictions.
