蘇悉地院（そしつじいん）
釈迦院と文殊院の対となるように虚空蔵院をふたつに分けたうちのひとつ

蘇悉地院には以下の8尊が坐しています。
- 虚空蔵菩薩（こくうぞうぼさつ） – 無量寿如来の化身で、一般的には宝物を持っている姿で表されます。虚空蔵院の主尊として崇められます。
- 大日如来（だいにちにょらい） – 光明普照の仏で、宇宙の根源的な存在として崇められます。智慧や悟りを象徴します。
- 阿弥陀如来（あみだにょらい） – 無量寿如来とも呼ばれ、極楽浄土で救済を与える仏として信仰されます。信心深い人々によって念仏を称えられます。
- 文殊菩薩（もんじゅぼさつ） – 知恵と学問の菩薩であり、智慧を開く力を持っています。多くの仏教寺院において学問や文化の守護者とされています。
- 弁財天（べんざいてん） – 富と豊穣を司る菩薩で、商売繁盛や金運の神として信仰されます。美しい女性の姿で表されることもあります。
- 毘沙門天（びしゃもんてん） – 戦いや厄除けの守護神として崇められます。勇敢さや忍耐力を象徴し、災難からの保護をもたらすとされています。
- 地蔵菩薩（じぞうぼさつ） – 全ての衆生を救済し苦しみから救い出す菩薩として知られています。特に子供や亡くなった人々の冥福を祈ることが多いです。
- 如意輪観音（にょいりんかんのん） – 慈悲と癒しの菩薩で、病気や苦しみを救済する力を持っています。千手観音とも関連があります。
これらの8尊は蘇悉地院において、虚空蔵院の果徳を実践によってさらに成就することを象徴しています。
In Sushidi-in, there are the following eight principal deities:
- Kokuuzou Bosatsu (Bodhisattva Akasagarbha): Known as the incarnation of Amida Buddha, Kokuuzou Bosatsu is typically depicted holding a treasure. He is revered as the main deity of Kokuuzouin and symbolizes the fulfillment of spiritual merits.
- Dainichi Nyorai (Mahavairocana): Revered as the Buddha of Illuminating Radiance, Dainichi Nyorai represents the fundamental cosmic existence. He embodies wisdom and enlightenment.
- Amida Nyorai (Amitabha Buddha): Also known as the Buddha of Infinite Light and Life, Amida Nyorai is worshipped as the Buddha who offers salvation in the Pure Land. Devout followers recite his name in the practice of Nembutsu.
- Monju Bosatsu (Bodhisattva Manjushri): Monju Bosatsu is the Bodhisattva of Wisdom and Learning, possessing the power to open one’s intellect. He is revered as the guardian of knowledge and culture in many Buddhist temples.
- Benzaiten (Benten): Benzaiten is the Bodhisattva who governs wealth and abundance. She is worshipped as the deity of prosperous business and good fortune. Sometimes, she is depicted in the form of a beautiful woman.
- Bishamonten (Vaisravana): Revered as the guardian deity of battles and dispelling misfortune, Bishamonten symbolizes bravery and endurance. He is believed to protect against calamities and adversity.
- Jizou Bosatsu (Bodhisattva Ksitigarbha): Jizou Bosatsu is renowned as the Bodhisattva who saves all sentient beings and delivers them from suffering. He is particularly invoked for the well-being of children and the deceased.
- Nyoirin Kannon (Cintamani Avalokiteshvara): Nyoirin Kannon is a Bodhisattva of compassion and healing, possessing the power to alleviate illnesses and suffering. It is also related to the Thousand-Armed Kannon.
These eight principal deities in Sushidi-in symbolize the actualization of the merit of Kokuuzouin through practical application.
