　そのひとっの方法を、ウィスコンシン州マジソンの分子生物学者、フアッ・Ｒ・ポックー博士

はつぎのようにいう。

《頭のいい》子と《物おぼえのいい》子

　彼は、知識というものはつねに潜在的にひとつの危険をはらんでいるものだと警告した上で、

危険をはらんでいる知識の問題を解決する唯一の方法は、もっと知識を手に入れることであると

いう。〃不均衡に発達した知識の各分野における混乱と無秩序から、新しいある均衡をつくりださ

なければならない″そして、科学者が、人間の適応性と個性についての研究をひろげること、さ

らにストレスの本質、特にストレスの最適度という概念について研究すべきだと力説し、そのた

めに、もっと高い知識を！　といっている。

　たしかにその通りであると私も心から賛同するのだが、同時に、ポックー博士は、おしいこと

に、この名論のなかで、単語の使いかたをひとつ間違えているのではないかと思うのである。

　人類に、いま、もっとも必要なのは、。知識”ではない。必要なのは″知能″なのだ。知識は、

もう十分だとはいえないまでも、それはあまりにハンランし過ぎている。そうして、もっとも肝

心なことは、知識が知識を生み出すのではなく、高い知識は高い知能によって生み出され、運用

されるということである。知識を持つことは、コンピューターでも、いやコンピューターの方が

ヒトよりも高い能力を持っているだろう。肝心なのは、いかなる精巧なコンピューターでも持ち

得ない商い思考能力″知能″である。もっと高く、もっと広く、もっと均衡のとれた知識が必要

であることはいうまでもない。だが、そういう知識がどこから生まれるのかというもっとも根本

的な問題を、ポッター博士はお忘れのようだ。博士は結論を急ぎ過ぎたようである。肝心なこと

は、知識をたくさん持つことではなく、知識を運用する方法と方向を決定することだ。そしてそ

れをするのが″知能″なのである。

　ここで、知能の定義を調べてみよう。

　知能とは、二言でいえば、精神をうまくはたらかす能力のことである。

　五〇年ほど前、ドイツの心理学者シュテルンは、

　「知能とは、意識的に新しい必要に対処していく一般的な能力である。つまり、新しい問題と条

件に対する一般的適応性である」

　といった。

　また、最近では、アメリカの心理学者ウェクスラーが、

　「目的にかなうように行勤し、合理的に考え、環境をじょうずに処理する能力をひとまとめにし

たもの。あるいはその全体的な能力、である」

　私は思うのだが、現代の悲劇の最大の原因は、科学がヒトを超えてしまったように、知識が知

能を超えてしまったところにあるのではないのか？　知能が知識を制御できなくなったことが、

知識を不均衡にさせ、各分野における知識を、混乱と無秩序におとしいれてしまったのではない

のか？　そして、それが、科学（とその知識）に依存して立っているわれわれの社会に混乱と無

秩序をもたらしつっあるのではないのか？

　ちょうどこの章を書いている三月中旬、連合赤軍の「虐殺リンチ」事件を特集している週刊朝

日（３／31号）に、劇作家の飯沢匡氏が、この若者たちについて発言している言葉は、すこぶる

傾聴にあたいするものである。

　氏は、このように述べている。

　『－Ｉ私は、世のなかが″頭のいい子″と。もの覚えのいい子”をとりちがえていると思う。実

は″もの覚えのいい子″に過ぎないのに″頭のいい子”と判定して、本人もその気になっている

場合が多い。今回の連合赤軍の若ものたちは比較的″頭がいい″といわれているが、私は”もの

覚えのいい″部類と思っている。もし頭がいいなら、あんな単純なゲリラ戦術に夢中になるはず

がないからだ。

　私は彼らを原理人間の悲劇といっているが、原理なるものは多くの具体的な事例から共通のも

のを抽出して、はじめて抽象的に出てくる。ちょうどコンピューターに数多くのデータのカード

を入れて、はじめて正確な分析も結論も引出せるのと同じだ。連合赤軍は。はじめに原理あり

き”で、データの具体性はナンセンスの二言で省略してしまった。だから、アラブの砂漠の場合

も、キューバの砂糖キビ畑も、中国の四川省も、日本も一緒くたにしてゲリラ戦術が通用すると

思ったのである。－原理の上に原理を機械的に積み重ねてゆくと、ロシア革命以前の理論がエ

レクトロニクス時代にも通用すると思ったり、砂漠や砂糖キビ畑の無学文盲の民衆と、世界一の

教育国の日本民衆とを同一視する粗雑さが出てくるのだ』

　と手きびしくきめつけている。

　つまり、飯沢氏のいう「頭のいい子」というのが私のいう「知能」であり、「もの覚えのいい

子」というのが「知識」ということである。

飯沢氏のこの言葉はまさにその通りであって、全く異論の余地がない。

　そうして、

　「どうしてこんな軽率な若ものたちができたのかというと、それは、六・三こ二の三・三の部分

であろう」

　といっている。

　現代の教育制度が、知能を高めるということに重点をおかず、知識をつめこむことだけに専念

しているということである。あるいは、知識をたくさん持つことが知能を高めることだと誤解し

ているのであろう。もっとも、私は、飯沢氏の言葉のこの部分だけは、一部分賛同するけれど

も、一部分は首肯し難いのである。なぜならば、六こ∵三制の教育制度がしかれる以前の教育

をうけたエライ知識人、文化人（と称される人たち）のなかにも、知識だけはびっくりするほど

たくさん持っているくせに、まるっきり知能の低い人たちがずいぶん多く見うけられるように思

えるからだ。現代の最大の悩みはまさにそこにあるのであって、いうなれば″知識人であって低

知能者″のハンランである。そしてその被害を大きくしているのは、そういう低知能の知識人を、

高い知能の持ち主と錯覚する大衆やジャーナリズムの存在であろう。いや、最大の被害者は、

自分の低知能に気づかず、ひとつかみの専門領域の知識の所有を以て、自分こそ最高の知性であ

り、知能であると信じているご本人かも知れない。

　ともあれ、ひとつの商い知識や能力を持つことが、ただちに高い知能を持っているということ

ではないことをわれわれはよく認識しなければならぬ。

　極端な例をあげるならば、いわゆる。馬鹿の天才″といわれる特異児童、つまり普通の精神的

なはたらきは標準以下でありながら、特殊なはたらきでは、抜群の能力を持っている人間だって

いるのである。ひとりの子どもを例にあげよう。一九三七年に世界中の話題を集めた子で、その

知能については心理学の本のなかでもたびたび論議されている。その子は当時一一歳で、身体は

健康、精神的にも見たところ少しも異常はみとめられない。この子が、実はたいへんな特異の才

能を持っていたのである。

　一、一八八〇年から一九五〇年までのどの日をあげても、その日が何曜日であるかをすぐ答え

　　　ることができた。

　一、加算の能力も驚くべ舎もので、ニケクの数を一〇～一二回加えるのだったら、たちどころ

　　　に暗算してみせた。

　一、ドボルザークの″ラルゴ″のような曲を一度聞いただけで演奏し″歌劇オセロ″のなかの

　　　アリアやデュエットなども、一度間いただけで歌うことができた。

　ところが、その子は学校の成績は悪く、劣等の部にはいるほどであった。単語のつづりを同じ

速さで逆に書くことができたが、その単語の意味はよく知らなかった。論理的な推理はほとんど

できず、抽象を必要とするような問題は、まったく駄目であった。

　この子はいったい知能が商いのか？　低いのか？　専門家たちの間で、それに対する正確な答

は出ていない。

　ところで、これほど極端なアンバランスを持っていない”特異児ｊＧ４成人したのち、その専

門領域（だけ）における特異才能を、高度な知能と考えた世間が、その人を指導者のひとりに加

え、その批判や意見が、世のなかの動向を大きく決定するようになったとしたら、その結果はど

んなものであろうか？

　まあ、それほどではないにしても、いたずらなる知識のよせ集めや積み重ねが高い知能である

という錯覚と偏見は捨てられねばならない。

　こういうわけで、。不均衡に発達した知識の各分野における混乱と無秩序”を是正し、正しい

方向づけをするのは、知識ではなく、知能であるということに、あなたをはじめ、だれだって、

もはや異論はないであろう。そこで、結論は、ポッター博士の表現をかりていうなら、「もっと

知能を！・」ということでなければならない。いま、最大の危機に立つ知識と科学（だけではない、政治でも経済でも宗教でも美術でもセックスでもなんでも人間のいとなむものすべて）の問

題を解決する唯一の方法は、「もっと高い知能を手に入れること」でなければならない。われわ

れは、いまや、獲物の目標を変えなければならないのである。

　考えてみれば、いや、考えるまでもなく、こんなことを今さらいうのはおかしいくらいのもの

で、高い知能さえあったら、知識なぞいくらでも集まってくるというものではないか。いくら知

識を集めたって、知能がそれにともなわなければ、それは身につくものではないし、正しく有意

義に活用することもできない。あるのは混乱と当惑だけだ。

　私は、さきに、もっとも大切なことは、科学を超える、もっと高いあらたな力をヒトが身につ

けるということだ、その方法を、今やわれわれは必死に探求すべきであるといった。高い知能だ

けが現代の危機を打開する唯一の力であるといい切ることはできぬかも知れぬが、今の水準より

はるかに高い知能を持つことにより、われわれの現在の全生活体系－政治、経済、戦争、運命

その他あらゆる人間関係－が一変されてしまうことは断言できる。だれでもそれに異論はない

だろう。

　だがＩ、問題は、そのような高い知能をホモーサピエンスはいかにして身につけることがで

きようか、ということである。また、はたしてそれが可能であるか、ということだ。

　現在の教育制度が、知能そのものの開発よりも、知識の蒐集に重点をおいているということ

は、さきの飯沢氏の言葉を引くまでもない。もっとも、知識をつめこむことにより、知能生局め

るという方法をとっているのが、現代の教育というもので、現代の教育はそれしか方法を知らな

いのだからやむを得ないが、そんな間接的なものではなく、そのものズバリ、知能そのものを開

発し強化し高めるといダ方法を探求し、採用すべきなのではないか？

　もっとも、科学者のなかには、ホモーサピエンスの知能はすでに限界に達していると説くひと

もいる。そういえば、たしかに、現在の科学と技術が示す混乱と当惑のすがたこそ、その説土畏

づけてあまりあるものだといっていえないこともない。

　あなたはどう思うか？

　やはり、ヒトの知能は限界に達してしまっていて、これ以上高い知能を持つためには、科学が

考えるように、ヒトの脳をコンピューターに直結するというような技術にたよるよりほかないの

であろうか？　もはや、ヒトは、科学を超え互局い能力を持つことなぞ、夢物語というよりほか

ないのであろうか？

　いや、そうではない。ヒトにはすばらしい未来がある、絶望することはないのだ、と力づよく

否定する声も一部にある。ヒトとは、無限の可能性につつまれた存在であって、現に、ヒトはそ

の道を歩んでいるのだと、かがやかしい人類の未来をあざやかに展望してみせてくれる言葉がい

くっかある。

　では、その言葉を聞いてみよう。

未来人、超・ヒトの誕生１１ティヤールードーシャルダンの提案

　栄光にかがやく、聖者にして且つはまれ高き自然科学者であるテイヤールードーシャルダン神

父は、未来人、超・ヒトの出現に期待するのだ。

　そういう意味では、彼は、ホモーサピエンスの能力に絶望しているという見かたもできないこ

とはないが、その未来人、超・ヒトは、現人類が滅亡して、そのあとに出現するあたらしい種

属というのではなく、現人類のホモーサピエンスが（進化）して、そのまま超・ヒトになるのだ

と説く。

　彼は、人類が最後に到達するところに、″オメガ点”を設定して、新しき人類、超・ヒトの出

現をつぎのように待望する。

　世界の終末にあたっての人間の存続について、彼は、

　『－ある人がなくなると、他の人がいつでもその人と交代する。個人の死は生命の持続という

点でかけがえのないものではない。しかし、人類の場合はどうか？　有名な古生物学者フソユー

は、彼の著作のなかで、もしも人類の分枝が消滅するようなことがあれば、思考力を持った他の

生物の分枝がすぐにそのあとを継ぐだろうと示唆していた』

　といい、しかし、それは現在のヒトが消滅して他の思考力を持った生物がそのあとを継ぐので

はなく、現在の人間そのものが、成熟、高揚して、高次元の方向へ進歩延長してゆくのだ、とい

う。すなわち、

　『生物学的に定められた時期が訪れるなら、どのような形態のものであっても、休止ではなく、

最後の進歩がみられるだろう。成熟と高揚。われわれがそこから生まれ出てきたところの、信じ

られないもののうちにより高く導かれていくだろう。世界の終末を予想しようとすれば、そのよ

うな高次元の方向へ人間と人間化を延長しなければならない』

　といい、それは、いかにして可能なのかというと、

　『本書（現象としての人間）においては進化とは意識への上昇運動であることを認め、これを承

認している。このこと自体は人間主義者のうちでもっとも唯物論的な人、あるいは少なくとも、

もっとも不可知論者的な人からも否認されることはないだろう。したがって進化は未来において

絶頂に達して最高の意識といったものになるはずである。しかしこの意識はまさしく最高のもの

であるためには、われわれの意識の完成であるもの、すなわち自己を照らし出す自己集中の力を

最高の段階に到達させるはずではないか。－そして思考力の未来像を推知しようとすれば、も

っぱら高次の思考力、すなわち高次の人格化というものに向けて延長してみなければならない

　といい、そのための三つの能力を人間は持っているという。

　『すなわち、①すべてのものを部分的に自己のまわりに集中させること、②自己集中をつねによ

りいっそう深めて行くことができること、③このような高次の集中作用自体によって、自己をと

りまくすべてのものの中心と結合させられるようになること、この三つの能力をわれわれは持

つ。われわれは宇宙というものを体験によってたえず知り、この宇宙の無限の広がりがわれわれ

の感覚と理性の働きを通して各人のうちにますます容易に寄せ集められるようになったのを体験

してはいないだろうか？』

　と呼びかけ、

　『人類の持つ精神圏が、またもっと一般的にいって、宇宙が、構造的に単に閉ざされているとい

うだけでなく、さらにＩ点にむかって集中している有機的統一体でもあることを理解しさえすれ

ば、全体という概念と人格という概念との対立に関する異議も反駁も一掃されてしまうだろう。

四次元的時空というものは意識を包含し、生み出すから、必然的に収斂する性質をもつ。だから

その巨大な層は、適当な方向にむかって進むなら、前方のある一点、すなわちこれらの層がすべ

てそのなかでひとつに融合され完成させられる究極の一点－これを（オメガ点）と呼ぼうＩ

に巻きこまれていくにちがいない』

　ヒトはその持つ固有の精神の力をもってそのオメガ点に向って成長し進化しつづけ、同時に頂

点に達する。つまりは、宇宙の未来ということはヒトの未来ということになるのだが、

　「オメガ点におけ亘局次の人格という形で考えるほかないだろう」

　とむすぶ。

　そうして、そういう人格をそなえた人間を超・ヒトと呼び、超・ヒトの出現する必然性を、そ

の著「人間の未来」のなかで、。超・人間到来の蓋然性について”と題して、このように述べる。

　『多くの生物学者はＩそれも比較的すぐれた学者だちなのだぷｙｌ”人間は他のすべての生物

同様、進化によって自然のなかに現われてきた、すなわち生まれてきた、ということについて完

全な確信をもっているうえに″人類はホモーサピエンスの段階に到達することによって、有機体

としての最上空に達し、あとはその高さを維持して飛ぶほかないと考えているようだ。したがっ

て、人類生成の歴史は、もはや過去を回顧するだけのものになってしまっているようである。し

かし、人間生成の歩みは立ちどまっているというこの（まったく非論理的で根拠のない）考え方

に反して、さまざまな類比と事実との積み重ねから、新しい証明が育ち、場合によっては従来の

考え方を圧倒するいきおいにあるのは確かな事実である』

　といい。

　『われわれのまわりの世界のなかでは、人間たちの数が増加しているだけではなく、人間そのも

のがいまもなお形成されっつあるのである。べつのいい方をすれば、人間は動物学的にみてまだ

生成しきっていない。心理学的にみても、達成の極致にはたどりついていない。むしろ、側ら洞のことである』（傍線は著者）

ゆえにかならず超・ヒトがあらわれる。それは必然であるとっよく断言するのである。

《オメガ点》はいつ来る？

　われわれは、テイヤールードーシャルダン神父の、人類にたいする愛情と情熱に心から打たれ

るのであるが、しかしＩ―、まことに残念ながら、それではいかにしてその超・ヒトを生み出す

のかという肝心の点については、なにも聞くことができないのである。超・ヒトが、自然に生み

出されるのを気ながに持てる情勢ではないことを、われわれは痛いほど知っている。超・ヒトは

一刻もはやく出現しなければならぬのだ。どのようにして、超・ヒトをつくり出すのか？　ひと

りでも多くＩ。

　残念ながら、テイヤール神父からその答を聞くことはできない。

　第一、テイヤール神父は、現在の地球が、いまや命旦夕にせまる危急存亡の秋にあることを身

にしみてお感じになっておられぬようだ。神父は、世界の終末について、天変地異、恒星の大変

動、徹生物の侵入、生物の逆進化、生殖不能、戦争、革命等々。

　「世界を終末に導くのにどんなに多くの方法があることだろう！」

　といいながら、かぞえ上げ、

　『そうしたさまざまな偶発事をわれわれは十分に知っている。そのことは考えた。ゴンクール兄

弟やベンソンやウェルズなどの小説のなかで、あるいは有名な著者の科学書のなかで、そうした

不測の事態を予測した叙述を読んでいる。それらの叙述はたしかにそれぞれ真実らしく思われ

る。われわれの地球は巨大な唄石にふんさいされる危険にたえずさらされている。それはたしか

である。明日には地球に地震が起こり、足もとの地面が陥没するかもしれない。それもまた真実

である。人間の意志は個別的にとり上げてみた場合、それぞれさらに高い結合の状態にのぼって

いくという義務を拒むことができる。その点もみとめよう。しかしそれらのことが時期より早く

起きる偶発的災害もしくは衰退という考えを含んでいるかぎり、過去の進化がわれわれに教えて

くれるすべてのことにもとづいて、それらさまざまの天災のいずれをも恐れるべきではないとい

うことができる。それらの天災が理論の上では起こりうるとしても、もっと高度の理由から、そ

れらが起こらないだろうと確信することができる』（傍点は原文のまま）

　と断言しているのだからＩ。

　彼はその理由をいろいろと述べた上で、

　『（なぜならば）人間はかけがえのないものだからである。だから人開け、必然的にではなく。世界の終末のなかには、現在の人類を襲う環境汚染の問題など、ほとんどふれていない。目前に

せまる人目増加による恐慌なども全く考えに入っていない。わずかに「複雑化が進み、年代が経

つにっれて生物圏と精神圏の内奥で内的な危機が増大する」といっているだけである。むりのな

いことだが、一九五五年になくなられた神父には、その後のわずか十数年間に、かくも急速に地

球が汚染されるとは予測できなかったのであろう。

　「もし万事が順調にすすむなら、天文学者は今後たっぷり数億年を約束してくれる。われわれは

ほっとしているし

　とんでもない！　神父さま、万事が順調にすすむどころか！　すべてぐあいが悪くなってしま

ったのです！　われわれはほっとするどころか、頭をかかえているのです！

「世界の夕暮れの訪れを見るときまでに、人類はかならず最後の進歩をみる。すなわち”成熟と

高揚″によって、ヒトは最高次元に到達するＩ」

　たしかに神父のおっしやるように、数億年の未来があったら、人類はすべて神父のいうオメガ

点に達して、高次元の人格をそなえた超・ヒトになること疑いなしであろう。私もそれをかたく

信じる。けれども、現実は、数億年どころか、二Ｉ世紀の初日の出を無事にあおぐことができる

かどうか、というところに人類は追いつめられているのである。これが決してオーバーな表現で

ないことは、あなたもすでによくご存知のはずだ。

　超・ヒトの出現を、地球はいま必要としているのだ。いま、このいま、地球に超・ヒトは出現

しなければならない。そうして、その超・ヒトは、テイヤール神父のいうような″高次元の人

格″よりも、″高次元の能力″を持ったあたらしいヒトでなければならぬのだ。

　いまの地球に必要なのは、高次元の人格はもとより必要だが、それより以上に、なによりも高

次元の能力が欲しいのだ。物を制御し、物を支配し、物を超える能力、そういう高度の能力であ

る。そういう高い能力を持ったヒトは、いうまでもなく、おなじように高度の人格をあわせ持っ

ているであろう。が、人格だけでは現在の人類を救うことはできない。欲しいのはＩ、必要な

のは、能力なのだ。

　結論からいって、超・ヒトの出現を信ずるテイヤール神父の直観は間違ってはいない。究極に

おいて私もそれに賛成なのだが、テイヤール神父の超・ヒトは、残念ながらあまりに観念的で、

現実からけるかに違い。方法論にも欠けている。第一、その超・ヒトが、どういう能力をそなえ

ているのかナら明確ではない。ただその超・ヒトが、キリスト、あるいは神を指向したのであろ

うとわずかに推察ナるのみである。

　その点－、人類学者ジョルジューオリヴィエの語るあたらしいヒトの人間像ははっきりして

いる。

　－ここに、機械や技術によらぬ人間の能力増大を、人類学の立揚から語るすぐれたひとりの

科学者がいる。その言葉を聞いてみよう。

むしろ絶対確実に、（滅亡せず）終着点であるオメガ点に到達するはずのものである』（傍点は原

　といい切っている。このあたり、著名な自然科学者としてのテイヤールードーシャルダン博士

ではなく、神のみこころを信ずるテイヤールードーシャルダン神父さまである。テイヤール神父

の、この、人間にたいする信頼、というよりも神にたいする信頼と信念はほほえましくもまたま

ことに尊い。しかし、信頼と信念だけでは焦眉の急を救うことはできない。神父のかぞえあげた

るのではないかと思われる。じつにかんたんに水子をつくり、不幸を醸成しているのである。
　もちろん、中絶した水子の霊すべてが、ことごとく不成仏霊となって霊障をおこすとはかぎ
らない。しかし、中絶して水子をつくったからには、かならず霊界の法則にのっとった供養を
して、慰霊しておくべきである。それをしない怠慢は、何倍もの不幸となってはねかえってく
るのである。
　ここにあげた例は、ほんの九牛の一毛にも足りない。おなじようなお伺い書が、月に何百通
もわたくしの手もとに集まってくる。いや、それは干の単位にかるく達する。子供の家庭内暴
力、不純異性交友、登校拒否、シンナー吸飲、狂気じみたスピード狂、それらのほとんどは、
霊視をすると、水子の不成仏霊を持っている。
　中にはよい素質を持ち、かしこい子供もいるのである。霊障によって性格分裂をおこしてい
るのだ。運が悪くなっている子もいる。試験というと、きまってふだんの半分もできなくなる
子がいる。

　水子の霊障をうけている子供たちに共通している点をあげると、
　１、非常に衝動的であり、感情の起伏変動がはげしい。
　２、年じゅう病気をしたり怪我をすることが多い。
　３、注意力散漫かその反対に、病的なくらい神経質。
　４、粗暴かその反対に、無気力。
　５、異常に親に反抗する。
　６、異常に性的関心がつよい。

　もちろん、こういう傾向が、すべて水子の霊障によるものとはいえない。持って生まれた因
縁からくる場合もすくなくない。たとえば、「脳障害の因縁Ｌ「中途挫折の因縁」「家運衰退の
因縁Ｌ「肉親血縁相剋の因縁」「色情の因縁Ｌ「刑獄の因縁Ｌなどという因縁を複合して持って
いる子供は、だいたい異常性格であったり、病的な傾向をあらわす。
　ところが、こういう因縁を持たないで、異常な行動をしたり、病的な傾向をあらわす子供
は、水子の霊障によるものとみてほとんどまちがいないのである。
　こういう子供を持つ家庭の将来は、まさに暗たんたるものである。その家とその家族にもは
や未来はないといっても過言ではないであろう。なぜならば、その家はすでにつよい家述衰退
の因縁のただ中にあり、あとは没落の一途をたどるのみだからである。
　しかし、それはたんなる一家庭の問題ではない。その家の将来はその家の子供たちの肩にか
かっているように、国家の将来も、青少年の肩にかかっているのである。その青少年の上に、
こういう問題が増加しつつあるということは、国家的な立場からも憂うべきことであるといわ
ねばならない。そういった意味からも、人工中絶はよほどやむを得ぬ事情でないかぎり、おこ
なうべきではなく、また、水子の霊はあつくとむらい、解脱供養をして、その怨念を解消しな
ければならない。水子の霊をこのままにして、日本に明るい将来はない

時間を巻き戻せる能力に目覚めた女子学生「マックス」の青春を描いたアドベンチャーゲームだ。

プレイヤーは主人公「マックス」を操作して、全寮制のブラックウェル高校での学生生活を送っていく。

本作は“バタフライ効果”がテーマになっており、過去をやり直したことで変化するその後の展開を予測しながらプレイする必要がある。

《プレイ後の感想》

館内で入手するビデオの登場人物としてプレイするモードも怖い。

主人公が使う時間を巻き戻す能力はゲームらしい能力だが、本作ではそれが主人公マックスの恋愛、学校での友人関係、現状への苛立ちなどを“青春”を際立たせるツールとして見事に機能している。

ストーリーが進むと「前回のライフイズストレンジは」から始まる前話を振り返る演出もドラマ性の強い本作と相性が良い。いつでタイムリープ系のゲーム性と青春というテーマをミックスした物語は本作ならではで「◯◯っぽいゲーム」が思いつかないほどオリジナリティに溢れている。

たとえ時間を戻して目の前の物事を解決したとしてもその後大きなズレが生じて大事件に発展するかもしれない、といういわゆるバタフライエフェクトの理論をうまく物語に取り込んでいる。

自分の行動が誰にいつにどういった影響を与えてしまうのかドキドキしながらプレイできた。ただ、思ったよりもサクッと終わってしまうのが唯一の残念ポイント。

おすすめポイント

• 過去に戻れるシステムとバタフライエフェクトをイメージしたストーリーが楽しい。シュタインズゲートが好きな人は特にハマれる。

このルールによって、例えば、「侵入したい部屋の鍵を何らかの方法によって開錠し、部屋に入った状態で巻き戻す＝鍵を開けずに部屋に入る」といったことが出来るのです。

つまり、「いかに能力を上手く使って問題を解決出来るか？」が、『Life Is Strange（ライフ イズ ストレンジ）』の醍醐味なのです。

アドベンチャーゲームなのに、落ちてくる岩石を直撃前に巻き戻して回避したり、状況の推移を観察して巻き戻り予言じみた行動をとってみたり、プレイヤーが考えうる能力を使った行動に対して、ある程度結果が用意されているので、プレイする度に発見があります。

　昭和十八年四月二十日の初めての東京空襲の時には、もう退院して東京に出てきていた。

自宅療養しながら、小説をＩ生懸命書いていた。そして同時に、栄養りほうも研究した。

物資の乏しい時代ではあったが、それなりにいろいろ考えて、結核にいいと思われる食べ

物をあれこれ研究した。

　これも戦後、密教に入って荒行をやるようになって大変役立った。

　あの病院では特別に卵が手に入るからといって、一ぺんに三個ぐらい食べたことがあっ

たが、急に心臓が苦しくなったような気がした。卵でも、一日に三つも食べれば、やはり

調子がよくない、おかしくなってしまうということがわかった。

　戦後になって事業をはじめてからも、夕方になると微熱が出るようなこともあり、完全

に結核が治ったと思われたのは、昭和三十二、三年以後だと思う。そういう体調が長期間

つづいていたわけである。

‘闘病生活と食の工夫

体験的実感的に食べ物の効果を考えてみるということをずいぶんやってみた。それが後に

密教の修行を始めて非常に役に立った。

　ふつうの信仰とちかって、密教の修行にはいろいろな苦行がある。その中に、寒中の滝

に入って行をする滝行というのがある。わたくしは結核をやっていたから、風邪を引くの

がいちばん恐い。しかしそういう身体で密教の行をし始めたわけであるから、食べ物とい

うものに非常に気をつけた。雪の降っている最中に滝に飛び込むなどした時、非常によく

わかる。食べた食物の効果がはっきりと出てくる。

　たとえば、焼肉とか焼鳥をうんと食べて、滝に入るのと菜食だけで滝に入るのとでは、

はっきり差が出てくる。

　何がいちばん耐久力がつくかというと、わたくしの体験からすれば、ごく少量の肉と、

大量の野菜と海草を純粋のゴマ油でいためて、それに「輦酒山門に入るを許さず」である

が、ニンニクを少し入れて、それを食べる。これがいちばん耐久力が出る。

　もう少し詳しく説明すると、ホウレン草とかコマツ菜とか、青い野菜を、油で炒めるの

であるが、その油をまず沸騰させて、そこへ細かく切ったニンニクを入れ、ニンニク油に

して、そこへ野菜を入れて炒める。それにヨード分の含まれるワカメを加えて、よく炒め

たところへ、少量の肉か、あるいは卵を入れて、お味噌で味をつける。これが、いちばん

身体にいいことがわかった。

　肉ばかりあまり食べてヽ沁に入ると、身体中が脂肪でギラギラしていて、油が水をはじ

くような感じで最初のうちはいいが、ある時間が経つとガク″とくる。持久力を維持する

のには、効果がない。有色野菜を中心にしたものがいちばんよい。

　ほかにもいろいろ試してみたが、結局、到達したところが密教食になるわけである。

密教食は仙人食

　漢方医学の研究家として有名だった故木村克巳氏の著書『皇漢医術百話』という本に、

非常に興味ぶかい文章がある。次に紹介してみる。「不老長寿の仙薬Ｌと題した一章であ

る。

　　　「不老長寿の仙薬というと、たいそう現代ばなれのした名称であるが、むかし山に入

　　　って行をしていた仙人や、有徳の善知識が愛用していた持薬は、薬品というよりはむ

　　　しろ食品であった。したがって、彼らの生活はきわめて簡素、自然であり、その食事

　　　のごときも、淡白なものを少量とって満足していた。私の少年時代に、祖母が、よく、

　　　人間は一生の食物の量がきまっているから、それを食いつくしたときは死ぬのだ、と、

　　　冗談まじりに言っていたことを思いだすが、それは長く生きようとしたら細長く食え

　　　という意味において、正しい考えかたのように思う。

　　　仙人が蕎麦粉一味を常食とし、松毯の種子（松の実のこと）を噛み、雲母の粉末を嘗

　これがもしも完全に成功したならば、その技術において、ヒトはまさに神になったといっても
よいであろう。ただし、技術の面だけでのことだがＩ。
　それはすでにごく一部のジャーナリズムに注目されはじめ、報道記事にされている。。さし木
から生まれたアインシュタインたち″というような、興味をそそられる見出しで報じられた研究
であるが、

　スチュワードが難関を突破して以来、べつの研究者たちはタバコについて同様な実験に成功し
た。これは、ニンジンの場合とはまた少し違った培養の操作手順を苦心して見出さねばならなか
った。それぞれの植物により、その培養条件は違っているもののようである。これと同じこと
が、まもなくほかのどんな植物でも成功すると考えられている。

　問題は、これと同じことが動物細胞についてもできるかどうかということである。
　その答は、決して不可能なことではない、というものである。
　もちろん、それは容易なものではない。
　大体、実験室で細胞を培養することは、けっして新しい技術ではない。けれども、たった一個
の細胞をもとに、これを薄層の組織にまで成長させる方法が発見されたのは、つい十数年まえの
ことである。普通は、たった一個の細胞では、栄養培地中におかれても分裂できない。故ウィル

　だから、動物細胞を栄養培養してひとつの完全生物にまですることは、ニンジンヤタバコの場
合のように、スムーズにはゆかない。けれども、生物学者はけっして不可能だとは考えていな

の危険にみちている。それに、それは、技術以外の分野で解決しなければならぬ問題をあまりに
も多くかかえており、現在の人類の知識の段階では、前進よりも抑制のほうに票を投じるべきだ
