什么是大日如来？
大日的意思是“伟大的太阳轮”。它是由掌管太阳的毗卢舍那如来进化而来的佛。在密宗中，大日如来代表宇宙真理，指宇宙本身。据说所有生物都是由大日如来诞生的，而包括释迦如来在内的其他佛陀都被认为是大日如来的化身。
对大日如来的理解有两种不同的方式：金刚界大日如来，象征着获得开悟所需的智慧；胎界大日如来，象征着无限慈悲的传播。金刚指的是金刚，寓意智慧非常坚硬，永远不会被刮伤。此外，“大藏”的意思是整个宇宙都像母亲的子宫一样包裹在大日如来之中。两者共同创造了以大日如来为主要形象的密宗世界观。

Appearance of Dainichi Nyorai

The shapes of the mudras are different for the Vajra Realm and the Garbha Realm. Dainichi Nyorai in the Vajra Realm holds up the index finger of his left hand and wraps it with his right hand in the wisdom fist mudra. On the other hand, Dainichi Nyorai in the Garbha Realm holds up all the fingers of both hands in front of his stomach and clasps them together in the jō mudra.
