虚空蔵菩薩
梵名は、アーカーシャガルバン。アーカーシヤは「虚空」、ガルバは「胎蔵」という意味です。
菩薩の福徳と仏智が大空（虚空）のように広大無辺であるところから、この名がつけられました。
その限りない福と智の徳を、必要とする人に必要なだけ与える、といわれています。「慈悲」の地蔵菩薩に対して「智慧」の仏として信仰されています。
この虚空蔵菩薩を本尊として修する「虚空蔵菩薩求聞持法」は、頭脳を明晰にし、記憶力を高める修法としてよく知られています。
同じく「虚空蔵菩薩念誦法」は、業障を除き、福徳円満にして物心両面の財宝を得ることができるとされています。
丑年および寅年生まれの人の守り本尊とされています。

「虚空蔵」はアーカーシャガルバ（「虚空の母胎」の意）の漢訳で、虚空蔵菩薩とは広大な宇宙のような無限の智恵と慈悲を持った菩薩、という意味である。そのため智恵や知識、記憶といった面での利益をもたらす菩薩として信仰される。

Kokuzo Bodhisattva
The name of the sword is Akasha Galvan. Akasiya means “empty” and Galva means “womb”.
The name comes from the fact that the bodhisattva’s fortune and Buddhist wisdom are vast and open like the sky.
It is said that the endless virtues of good fortune and wisdom are given to those who need them as much as necessary. It is worshiped as a Buddha of “wisdom” against the Jizo Bodhisattva of “mercy”.
The “Kokuzo Bodhisattva Gumonji Method”, which rehearses this Kokuzo Bodhisattva as the principal image, is well known as a method of clarifying the brain and enhancing memory.
Similarly, the “Kokuzo Bodhisattva Memorial Law” is said to be able to obtain treasures both physically and mentally with good fortune, excluding business obstacles.
It is considered to be the guardian deity of people born in the year of the ox and the year of the tiger.

.アーカーシャ（サンスクリット語: आकाश、Ākāśa、独: Akasha、アカシャ、阿迦奢）は、インドで「虚空」「空間」「天空」を意味する言葉であり、インドの五大のひとつである。
もともとはインド哲学における物質の根源である四大（しだい）（地、水、火、風）に、それらを産出し包括するために概念的に加えられた空間、すなわち虚空を意味し、併せて五大を構成する[1][2]。
単に「空」と訳されることも多いが、この場合は「アーカーシャ」ではなく「シューニャ」（サンスクリット語: शून्य, śūnya）を意味する場合があり、両者は意味する由来がまったく異なるため解釈に重大な影響を与えないよう慎重な注意が必要である。
また、『ウパニシャッド』においては人間の内面や事物の本質を意味する「アートマン」（元の言葉は「呼吸」）とされたが、ヤージュニャヴァルキヤは「風」・「空間」・「ガンダルヴァ」・「太陽」・「月」・「星」・「神」・「インドラ」・「プラジャーパティ」・「ブラフマン」を包摂するもの、すなわち存在の一切を統括する法則とした。
