『変身の原理』と密教ブーム
この『変身の原理』が出たあと、密教ブームが起こった。桐山は密教ブームに乗ったと いまになっていう人がいるが、事実はそうではなくて、この本が出る以前は、一般大衆は 密教という言葉さえ知らなかったくらいであった。この本が出てはじめて密教という言葉を知った人が多かった。と同時に、超能力という言葉も一般に使われるようになった。
「この頃、密教、密教としきりに聞くが、密教って、真言宗のことだってね」と言った真言宗のお坊さんもあったとか、とにかくこの本によって、密教ブームが起こった。
コリンーウィルソンの『オカルト』（新潮社）を翻訳された中村保男さんは、同書の「あ とがき」で、この『オカルト』と、わたくしの『変身の原理』および『密教―超能力の秘
密』とが、符節を合するように、同時期に刊行され、英語と日本語という本のちがいはあ書かれたものはなかった。たとえあっても、ほとんど人目につかなかった。洋の東西で、同時期にそういった内容のものが、発表されたということ
はまことに興味深い。あながち偶然とはいえないような気がする。
と同時に、これはわたくしにとって、単なる本ではなく、わたくしの世間に対する一つの宣言であったのである。
すなわち、わたくしは、この本の中で、密教というのはマンーパワー開発の最高の方法 であり、超能力を人に与える方法をもっているのだ、といっているだけではなく、わたくし自身がすでにそれを身につけているということをはっきりと断言しているわけである。
それは何かというと、わたくしは、この本の中で、密教の修行によって五つの超人的能力をもつことができると断言している。
その五つの超人的能力とは、
一 物事の明確な認識と予知および正確な選択力
二 すぐれた高度の創造力
三 自分を変え、他人を動かし、自分の思うままに環境をつくり変える 力
四 強靭な体力と卓抜な精神力
五 すさまじい爆発的な念力による願望達成力
である。
そして、密教の指導者としてこの本を書いた著者は、その五つの力を身につけているの だと断言しているのである。断言したからには、それを実証してみせる義務があろう。それが実証できないのなら、断言すべきではないのである。だから、断言したということは、実証してみせる自信があるからで、それはもはや単なる断言ではなく、宣言というべきも
のであろう。筆を執ったその時点において、どういうかたちでそれを実証するかというはっきりしたものはなかったが、それは、心の奥深く、徐々に動きはじめていたのである。
何か、心の奥深く、鳴っているものがあったのである。それが、この本を書かせたのであ。

The five superhuman abilities are
Clear recognition and prediction of things and accurate selection
Two excellent creativity
Change yourself, move others, and create the environment as you wish
Four strong physical strength and outstanding mental power
5 Achieving desires with tremendous explosive power
It is.
And the author who wrote this book as a esoteric leader asserts that he has the five powers. After affirming, there will be an obligation to prove it. If it cannot be proven, it should not be asserted. So, because I am confident that I have asserted, it is no longer just an assertion, but a declaration
It will be. At the time of writing, there was no clear way of demonstrating it, but it was beginning to move deeply in the heart.
